Infused Water

We all know how important it is to stay hydrated.  During the summer this is often hard.  We tend to be more active and perspire more, leading to potential dehydration.  Many of us also enjoy livin’ up the summer and may find that we are drinking more alcohol than usual.  All these things can lead to dehydration.  Here is an easy way to help combat dehydration and make drinking water seem fancy or even special.

Strawberry Basil Infused Water

This water couldn’t be easier to make!  Simply add a couple diced strawberries and a sprig of basil to your water and let it sit for a few hours.  Then sit back, relax and enjoy this cool refreshing drink!

For an added benefit, add lemon or lemon essential oil.

Benefits of Lemon Water

  • Improves digestion
  • Nourishes the skin
  • Aids in oral health and may help with bad breath
  • May help with weight loss

*If you go with lemon essential oil, make sure that you use a glass container.  I had an old juice bottle on hand that is perfect for this concoction.
