It’s 4 O’Clock and I’m STARVING!!!

I know I am not the only one who is suddenly ravenous at 4 o’clock.  For me, the hours between four and when we sit down to eat dinner are the ones that threaten to destroy my diet.  An entire day’s worth of healthy eating and good food choices down.the.drain!

Here is my SIMPLE solution.

Trust me, it works!  When I have this on hand, my diet remains in tact and I finish the night feeling good about what I have eaten…ALL DAY.  When life gets busy and I don’t have time make a veggie tray, I find that after a couple of weeks the scale will start to creep up.  This really is a key factor in controlling my cravings, my weight and sticking to my diet.

When that “I must eat now” feeling hits, I pull out this dish of veggies and snack on them.  It is just enough to get me over the hump until dinner is ready.  A veggie tray is also great for those times when  I need to walk out the door in a hurry and I know I will be gone long enough to get hungry.  You can often find a small bag of veggies in my purse as I head out the door on those long trips.

This SIMPLE change is good for the little ones in my life.  By having fresh veggies out and available my kids are eating more of them.  As an added bonus, they don’t bug me quite as much with their claims of “I AM STARVING!” while I am trying to cook dinner.  The veggies are out and free for the taking.  They see me modeling healthy food choices.  Slowly over time my kids have learned that if they aren’t happy with what I am offering to walk away.  Win/win…They are either eating veggies or leaving me alone.

The power of veggies!!!
